Degas,
Not to be a nit pick but the ballerinas painted on the ceiling of the Opera Garnier are done by Chagall not Degas. Wendy |
wendy, you are right about Chagall, but the Opera was the place where Degas got inspiration and ideas for many of his famous pictures.

Fauchons was open last week when we were there . . . at least two of the shops.
|
Fauchon has a shop in NYC! It is only a small one though. Also, some Hediard items can now be bought on eBay which I just discovered - seller name is frenchmaison.

I was at the top of the Samaratine in March 04. You were able to go outside and we took some great pictures.
Angelina's is a definite stop for hot chocolate. If you go to the Louvre, you must try and see Napoleon's apartments. Awesome with alot of gold in there. You really did your homework from what I have read. Also Longchamp store in on St Honore. I just love staying in the 1st arr. Great boulongerie right at St Honore and Rue St Roch. Awesome pain au chocolat. They laughed when I bought 12 of them to take back home along with 3 baguettes. I always bring zip lock bags to bring home bread and pain au chocolats. I finally figured out a quick tip. When closing the zip lock bags I blow air into them. This way the pain au chocolats do not become squished due to air pressure in the cabin. It took me 2 times to finally figure it out. |
