Paris Restaurants -- The Best Resource
My wife & I just returned from an amazing month in Paris and we must suggest an incredible resource for English-speaking visitors to the City of Lights: The Paris Kitchen.

When you arrive in Paris, early in your visit, take a food tour. You will learn so much and will appreciate the duration of your visit so much more.

The Paris Kitchen food tour visited prominent bakeries, cheese shops, etc., and an outdoor market, on the Left Bank. We learned so much and didn't feel intimidated walking into shops afterwards.
The website is also great for restaurant suggestions.

Paris By Mouth's (another great resource) food tours are less expensive http://parisbymouth.com/paris-food-tasting-tours/
Paris Walks occasionally offer food tours http://www.paris-walks.com/chocolate-walk.html They're the least expensive that I'm aware of at 27 euros but the groups are larger. They told me they take up to 20 people.
