Paris restaurants for Christmas

Hi,
My wife and I will be spending Christmas in Paris and have been told we need to book soon for Christmas eve/Christmas dinners. Can anyone recommend some good restaurants? We'll be staying in central Paris and would like to go somewhere nice yet not terribly expensive. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Hi there. We are in the same boat. Apparently not a lot open in Paris on Christmas Day. We just booked this one for Christmas day via a conseirge service. They say its good:Chez André
12, rue Marbeuf
8th arrondissement
it's between the Champs- Elysées and avenue George V
Métro : Franklin Roosevelt
telephone : 01 47 20 59 57

Maybe we'll see youthere.

Someone on this board indicated that they had New Year's reservations at La Fontaine de Mars. That would be a great place for a Christmas dinner if it is open. Delicious food, friendly staff, reasonable price and overall warm surroundings. it is located at 128, rue St. Dominique in the 7th Arr.; Metro: Ecole Militaire; Phone: 01-47-05-46-44. You might want to have your hotel book the reservation and, if they are not open, suggest someplace else.

Christmas dinner at Armand au Palais Royal would be very special and not break the bank.

Try Pied au Couchon as they are reasonably priced and have the best onion soup.

Or, somewhere beautiful like Bofinger for it's great seafood platters.

They would have special Christmas menus.

Pretty inexpensive, pretty tasty, and both were open for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day last year:

L'Oulette, 15 Place Lachambeaudie in the 12th (by Bercy if I remember correctly, you would probably want to take a taxi or at least taxi home). www.l-oulette.com

L' Avant-Gout (easy metro ride to Place d'Italie in the 13th). rue Bobillot.

Although my guess is you could find something perfectly acceptable closer to where you're staying. We enjoyed both.

Now, I'm taxing my memory here...but La Christine, on Rue Christine specifically said they were open on Christmas and I think I read that on reservethebest.com. I read the sample menu there, didn't look like a burden to me.
