Paris Restaurants/Food in the 7th
 

We will be in Paris the end of next week and will be staying in an apartment near the Muse De Orsay. Looking for recomendations for eating. We have 2 children, ages 5 and 8, so we are looking for recommendations where the kids would be welcome.

Just kidding, but a lot of the restaurants there could prove to be considerably stuffier than in the more relaxed parts of town.

A lot of my favorite restaurants are in the 7ème: La Fontaine de Mars, Auberge Bressanne, Le Florimond, Thoumieux, to name a few. Not sure they'd be ideal for kids of 5 and 8, though my kids ate there a lot when they were that age. There's also a great Sicilian pizza and pasta place on the Avenue Bosquet, about one block north of the Place Ecole Militaire on the right - my kids adored that place when they were young...still do, in fact.

I think the Bistro de Breteuil would be appropriate for a family; it is not stuffy. Located at 3, Place de Breteuil.

When I was googling to find the actual street address, I read a review that mentioned its being a good place for families of all ages. That is my impression, also.

Glad to know you where just kidding about the kids. We would want to avoid the stuffier places though. My kids speak French and Spanish fluently because they have attended a French/Spanish immersion International School since early preschool, so I am braving this trip with two kids as an educational experience for them. I guess we will see how that works out soon.

I don't know good choices around your hotel, but I think all these other restaurants are not in the part of the 7th near the Orsay, so really it's not even that pertinent in terms of location. You are just as close to the 6th as to those parts of the 7th. Actually, you might even be closer.

I've seen several families with youngchildren dining at the Bistrot de Paris on rue de Lille. It is just a very short distance from the D'Orsay...and the food is excellent

I just thought of anothr place where we've seen lots of children, Mezza Luna on rue de Seine. It too is not that far from where you are staying.

Our apartment is on Rue De Lille, but I'm not sure of the number, I think it is in the 40's though.

There's an Italian rest. on the Rue du Bac....Tre Amici I think it's called. About three blocks in from the river on the side of the street closest to Orsay. Saw many families there.

Children absolutely adore Léon de Bruxelles (seafood, particularly mussels) and Buffalo Grill (steakhouse), two of the biggest chain restaurants in France. They have children's menus, coloring books, etc. I don't think they have any locations in the 7th, but a quick Google will inform you.

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far, keep them coming if you have more, but I have some mapping to do. How about pateries(have no idea if I spelled that right and the kids are asleep)

Bistrot de Paris is at #33 rue de Lille. There are also several nice cafes along the Seine , next to the D'Orsay and many more on he back side. We've had nice meals in several nearby.
