Hi laurelue9 -
I was at the Hotel Clement from the 9th-14th Oct.
Out of the three hotels I stayed at in my two weeks in Paris the Clement had the least friendly reception. After a few days they got to know my face and actually could break into a smile now & again. The tall dark chap who worked the reception at night had the most unfriendly attitude out of the three I saw there. Then the blonde girl. The darker lady eventually became quite pleasant.

The street below is very very noisy!
There is a soup kitchen next door (or maybe one door away) which feeds all the bums at lunch-time each day. They get a proper sitdown meal but only my friends witnessed this when returning to the hotel one day at the appropriate hour.
Rue Clement is also a oneway street and confuses the taxi drivers no end!

ABOUT BREAKFAST:
You may save 2 or 3 euros by not having the 10euro breakfast but don't forget it includes as much tea, coffee, juice, milk as you can drink.
It lays on bread & three diffrent pastries with butter, jams, 2 different cheeses, cereal, a kind of puree' apple or apricot fruit which was lovely mixed with the different yoghurts on offer, an egg-boiler which allows you to help yourself to as many eggs as you want ( I had two every morning) and fix them soft or hard- boiled yourself. And a bowl of fresh fruit is also there for the taking.
I know kids have hollow legs and can eat a wack in one go - I thought the 10 euros well worth it.
