Paris Restaurant - L'Astrance

Want to make a booking at this restaurant by email does anyone know if that is possible? Their details on Fodor's, Trip Advisor and Google do not show any contact other than telephone!

There is no e-mail or web site listed in the Michelin Red Guide.

When we dined there several years ago (perhaps 10), we called at the exact number of days ahead of our wanted "dining day" that they allowed, and at the exact time their telephone opened in the morning to take reservations. It took us about 4 days/tries for us to finally secure a reservation. At that time it was a 1 star with about a 40E 12 course menu (they had a few courses that were not listed on the menu). Fabulous !!!!

Thank you Stu

I have read reviews that comment on the difficulty and frustration of having to call multiple times to secure a reservation. However everyone says it was worth it.

We are going to be there in July and the 4 of us chose it to celebrate all our Birthdays all at once!!

But they only accept telephone bookings so I don't see that you have any other option.

Dingley,

Perhaps this could be your other option. Get in touch with Lisa to make all your lunch/dinner reservations.

Her email address is [email protected]

Her website is: www.yourParisExperience.com

She did all of our restaurant reservations last December.

I hope this works for you. Have a great time.

Just ignore the snarky poster.

Many Thanks cafegoddess We are staying with Paris Perfect in an apartment and Lisa Buros is always our back up we have already swapped some emails with her. I just wanted to make this a special night for the others with some surprises for them and thought if I could get Google or ipad to translate I could actualy converse in French and know they have fully understood my request. And writing is an option I should think.

Thank you all.

PS fyi cigalechanta check the LAstrance under restaurants in Fodors you will find the real "deal".

Dingley,

Great! You are in good hands. ParisPerfect is the best and their apartments are gorgeous, my husband does not want to rent from anyone else. May I ask which apartment you will be staying? I am a little jealous.

If you are staying on the 7th, and you like tarte tatin go to Jean Millet on 103 rue St Dominique, then go to the cheese shop on rue Cler and buy some fresh cream. It is the best!

If I could, I would fly to Paris right now to eat the tarte tatin, fresh cream and the salted caramel from a chocolate shop on St.Germain.

Cafegoddess

I can see where your name comes from!

We are in "Rully" it is in 7th we are very pleased to have any good tips I take it that jean millet is take-away ? We know about the markets just down the ave from where we are staying. We have a week in Paris when we arrive and then a final night in August before we leave France and have chosen a boutique hotel in Rue Dauphine in St Germain for the last hurrah. We are very excited it is only our second time in France.
Many thanks - any more tips most welcome.

I understand the poster hoping to avoid the phone call. I also don't speak very much French and it can be harder to communicate by phone and not everyone who answers the phone in Paris speaks English.

We stayed with PP last trip and Lisa is very helpful.

Also, try Reed which is so charming and Catherine Reed is lovely. She also makes the best risotto I have ever had. We also enjoyed our rillete, andouillette and prosciutto we had as a starter. It is small but not crowded and decorated with red banquettes, taupe walls, very pleasant dining experience. My husband had the blanquette de veau and loved it. We also enjoyed les cocottes and Cafe Constant on rue St Dominique.

If you enjoy macarons, terrific salted caramels and delicious/gorgeous pastries, check out Un Dimanche a Paris off St Germain (across from Le Procope). Magnificent.

Have a great trip.

Denisea,

By any chance do you know the name of the chocolate shop right around the corner from Un Dimanche? It is on St Germain across from Le Comptoir (sp). The have the best salted caramel in a cute little jar and it came with a tiny spoon.

what a co-incidence.

i spent a happy afternoon reading Paris restaurant reviews and this one came up. it's quite close to where we're staying so I too tried to find an e-mail address but like many of the places i like the look of, they don't take e-mail reservations.

living in the UK and speaking ok french i am intending to try them tomorrow morning - wish me luck!

Cafe goddess...I don't remember the name. We did go in the shop but I can't remember the name...street view of the intersection on Google maps might help.
