Paris Restaurant comments: Le Petit Bordelais & La Grande Ourse

Has anyone dined at either of these restaurants?

They share a legacy of the wonderful, affordable, one-star Bellecours restaurant on rue Surcouf. We're going to be in Paris this Fall, and are updating our restaurant list.

Le Petit Bordelais appears to be in the same location, similar cuisine, and getting some nice reviews. This is just a short walk from our rented apartment at 12 rue Malar.

The former chef at Bellecours, Denis Croset, took over La Grande Ourse in 2009. (9 rue Georges Sache)

If you have any other great suggestions in the range of 100-125 euros for dinner for two, please feel free to suggest.

Thanks!

Paul

Avalon,

I'll definitely consult your list!

Just out of curiosity, did you ever eat at Bellecours when it was in business?

My wife and I have eaten at a lot of fine restaurants, and so few rise above the pack in terms of what they deliver for the price. But, we still think fondly of the wonderful evening (food, atmosphere, service) we had there in Fall 2003.
