xxx is always mean. i've learned to just go past his/her messages because they are all very mean and unhelpful.

Thanks for all the encouragement! I totally agree about xxx but so many of you have been very kind. It's heart warming to hear from "the good people" on this earth!
Patti

Can I buy Carte Orange (And yes, I know to buy it on Monday/Tuesday with photo in hand) at CDG and use it on the RER to my hotel/metro stop? Thanks.
|
If you are going back to CDG within the week, it makes sense to buy a Carte Orange Zones 1-5 at the airport. If not, I would just get a ticket into town and buy the C.O. after I get there. (Carte Orange zones 1-2 = 83FF; C.O. zones 1-5 = 173FF; one-way trip from CDG to town = 49FF). I'm sure you can buy it at the airport.

Interesting that when you go to the Metro/RER web site, the English version makes no mention of the Carte Orange... (www.ratp.fr)
|
Sue, I emailed ratp directly and they responded with "Our site does not give information on Carte Orange in the English version" however, they answered my specific questions in English. Interesting.
|
I'm not an expert on ratp passes, but I'm not sure it makes sense to pay for a carte orange (or any other pass) to cover the zones as far out as the airport or Versailles as if you were going there every day. I believe it makes more financial sense to buy a pass for just zones 1 and 2, and buy separate tickets to and from the airport (and/or Versailles.) Perhaps someone can confirm this.

Patty,
I have read somewhere that the CO is technically for locals only and they could refuse to sell you one unless you say you are temporarily living in Paris.
