Paris rental car office open on Easter Monday?
Hello,
Trying to plan out our trip and have some quick questions regarding renting a car in Paris. We hope to leave Paris for Normandy on Easter Monday (2012). Will rental car offices in the city be open that day? Will traffic be light or heavy because of the holiday? We don't know where in Paris we will be staying yet; any opinions on "best" rental car office for ease of leaving the city? Thanks for any advice! |
Many will be open, but the train station agencies will be open for sure. Easter Monday will be an excellent day to get a car and leave town, because everybody else it doing the opposite -- returning to the city and returning their cars.
Gare du Nord, Gare Montparnasse and Gare de Lyon are the principal stations with the biggest selection of cars. Traffic will be very light in the city that day so it doesn't matter which station you use. There are a zillion signs to direct you out of the city, and of course they will give you a free map and directions. |
Thank you so much and excellent info to hear!
BTW, kerouac, I so enjoy all your photographic essays, they are such a pleasure to read/see/experience. You truly make me feel like I am there walking along side you. Thank you for posting them. |
If you specify your rental dates on the Autoeurope or Kemwel site, you will be given the locations where the type of car you want is available and can be returned. These sites take into account office hours under all circumstances--e.g. lunch closure, holiday closures, etc.
