Paris Renaissance Hotels

Hello, we will be staying in Paris on Marriott points, and am trying to decide whether to stay at the Renaissance Vendomme or the Renaissance Arc de Triomphe. The luxury shopping near Vendomme is not a high priority. Location and proximity to resonable restaurants and to key sites is a priority. Which Hotel do Pars veteran-vistors recommend?

Thanks

I suggest Renaissance Vendomme. That's just my opinion though. My friends and I stayed there before and it's proximity to restaurants and other tourist spots is much better.

The Vendome location would be preferable walking distance to places I'm interested in and probably would work better for you. Both hotels are very near good Metro and bus routes. I'm not familiar with specific restaurants in that area but on the streets leading off the Place there should be lots of choice.

I will also say that Vendomme just about beats Arc de Triomphe/Champs Elysees - for me, being closer to Rue de Rivoli is a touch sexier. In any case, the Arc de Triomphe is not too far away. Won't comment on 'reasonable' restaurants in this area but do not worry about proximity to some of the key sites. Regards.

My fav go for the preferred guest club floor if u can

it is the best...

Champs area wonderful walking more upscale expensive area

Vendome ok but more metro would not be my choice.

You can check tripadvertizer for reviews careful many fakes

booking.com best site for honest reviews and ratings

on both hotels from REAL guests that have actually

stayed there recently.

Happy Planning,

I disagree that the Champs area is wonderful for walking. To me, it's one of the least interesting parts of Paris - very sterile with huge chain stores. I would stay in the Vendome hotel in a heartbeat.

I also disagree that the Champs is an interesting area. Quite the contrary - it is our least favorite area of central Paris. The Vendome area is much more interesting and more convenciently located to the things we want to see and do.

That's "conveniently" located.....

I'd stay in the Vendome, also, more convenient. I thin the Champs Elysees is very interesting in terms of French history and urban planning and lots of other things, but I don't want to stay in an area for those reasons, necessarily.

However, that hotel isn't on the Champs-Elysees anyway, so it doesn't matter. It's near Ternes metro.

Thank you all for your advice. You have confirmed our initial plan to stay at the Vendomme Renaissance.

Merci to all.
