Paris: Red Light Districts
 

I am leaving for Paris with friends. We want to see the somewhat seedy side of Paris for fun and probably do some shopping there, for exmaple, lingerie, fetish clothing, fun intimate items. Things of that nature.

What part of Paris or streets should I go to? Any sex/lingerie store suggestions?

Pigalle near Mont Marte is the most well known for that sort of thing. It's where the Molin Rouge is. Be careful about entering the clubs. I'm told they shake you down for over priced drinks. There is a street in the 2nd called Rue St. Denis which has some shops and night clubs and lots of street walkers.

I'm sure that that's not all they shake you down for.

Rue St denis has been cleaned up - it's all ethnic delis now not smut-shops. there's still pleanty of tarts there at night though.

Pigalle is probably what the person is looking for.

Rue de la Gaite in the 14th has a goodly number of xxx rated video stores with booths. You need go no further than Galeries Lafayette main store for provocative lingerie.
