ok, you didn't ask about ice cream, but here you go - Berthillion - Isle St. Louis - homemade there - you will NEVER have anything like it anywhere else!!!!!!

Ok - here are my favs...

Carton on Rue du Buci for bread - it's the only place with a line way out in the morning. Paul is new and touristy - Carton is where Parisians go!

Another vote for Gerard Mulot, for their chocolates! Great gifts to bring home (if you are willing to share)...

For wine bar - our favorite is Les Chais de l'Abbaye on Rue de Buci. Working class bar, but such great people watching, a decent selection of wine, and yummy snacks. We go there every night when in Paris before dinner for a drink.

Berthillion cannot be missed! I have gotten severe blisters walking in heels to Ile St. Louis after dinner, just to get an ice cream cone!

There's a little creperie stand on Rue Mazarine, south of intersection with Rue de Buci and Rue Dauphine...on the left side if you are walking south (towards St. Germain) - not the first, but the second stand you come upon. Order the toasted almond crepe (at night only, so the crepe is fresh)...it is a slice of heaven!

Enjoy!

I've had breakfast and lunch several times at Paul's on the corner of Rue De Buci-good. Most times during the day there is a line going out the door for their great breads and rolls. At a window table you can enjoy the street market action on Rue De Buci.bonne chance.

CJ--
You will love the Lutetia and the sixth (if you still intend to go after the recent events)--Poilane is a wonderful bakery around the corner--our favorite restaruants are L'epi dupin, Alcazar and Rotisserie D'en Face (all in the sixth.) Enjoy
