Paris - questions
I want to purchase a two day Paris All Museum pass and will be staying on the Boulevard du Montparnasse in Paris. Can someone recommend a location nearby where to purchase the pass?
Also, can someone recommend a good cruise company to book a Siene river evening dinner cruise? Thanks! |
Which way are you headed? Pick your location from the list of points of sale at

Vedettes du Pont Neuf for the cruise. They have a website with a discount ticket. Located on western tip of Ile de la Cite. Nice park beside where they board.
Take the last one of the night, to see the city lights. Eat dinner on Left Bank (lots of restaurants nearby) , then walk over. |
I would not recommend booking a dinner cruise. As Michel_Paris says, take the Vedettes du Pont Neuf late-night cruise so you can see the city all lit up. Eat beforehand at someplace nearby.

Participating museums sell the pass. The closest one to where you will be staying is the L'Adresse Musee de la Poste at 34 boulevard du Vaugirard. It's closed on Sundays.

I'll third the suggestion for the NON-dinner night cruise.
Here's a video - http://www.vedettesdupontneuf.com/video_crnuit.htm Discount ticket (8€) - http://www.vedettesdupontneuf.com/billet_en.php For the price you'll pay for a mediocre dinner (at best) on the boat, you could get a really nice dinner on land. Here's one just two blocks from the boat launch - http://www.zekitchengalerie.fr/ . There are a many others in the same neighborhood that are less expensive. |
Have a light dinner before or after the cruise on Vedettes. Take a bottle of champagne on board.

You can buy the museum pass at the airport when you arrive, then you don't have to go searching or standing in a line.

Actually We took a dinner cruise with a native French restaurant critic and it was sensational. But then it was $200.00 a person and had very limitied seating, a string quartet and no commentary. Each table had about 6 waiters and the food and wine was beyond great! So you get what you pay for!

There are also dinner cruises and combos offered by some of the big coach tour companies (Cityrama, Parisvision)
I'd still eat elsewhere. |
