Paris Q- Boule Pits?

I love to see the usually plump old berreted men playing boule (petanque) - i've noticed one extensive boule box (sandy in a rectanle box) along the canal's east side just south of Bastille and some by the Eiffel Tower but can anyone tell me where there are some other popular boule playing boxes (what do you call them - jeu de boulistes?)

thanks as i love to watch this to me colorful and so French men's game.

Hi PQ,

The Arenes de Lutece was a popular place when we were there in 2005.

Careful, Pal..you're going to get "old" someday, too. Hopefully it will be pretty and graceful.

They'd be called boulistes. But not all "jeux de boules" are pétanque. See "boules lyonnaises" for instance.

I've seen people in the Luxembourg on a Sunday morning:

and I would guess there are plenty of spots in the Tuileries, if not necessarily pre-designated areas.
