Paris Public transport specifics
 

Anyone have accessibility info on metro cardinal lemoine entrance and exit? Having difficulties with stairs and trying to find info for which metro stops have elevators. Have found an apt with elevator near that metro but wondering if best to look elsewhere.
Only second time in Paris, first for DH so will be doing “touristy type sightseeing”. Last time stayed in Latin Quarter. Will be staying 8 nights in Paris with 2 night break to Dourdan in the middle of stay to attend a wedding near Dourdan. We will be taking RER C back from Dourdan.
Looking at probably needing to take buses or trams more often than metro but I am confused about the tram routes. Last time in Paris 20 yrs ago don’t remember trams! Now that the public transport ticket situation has changed looks like will be more of a hassle to switch between metro and buses- loved it when you could buy unlimited trips for a day on all forms of public transportation!

According to RATP, Cardinal Lemoine is not accessible. RER A, RER B, and line 14 stops are all supposed to be accessible.

The tram lines go around the outer edge of Paris, I can't imagine they would be useful to you. You can still buy a Navigo Jour ticket that covers unlimited travel on all forms for one day at about 12 euro. The weekly Navigo only costs about 32 euro but is only Monday start date through the next Sunday. The RATP website has a map that shows all lines.

The tram lines are brilliant but none of them run in the center of Paris; they are mostly a suburban thing.

Thanks for verifying tram info. I love trams we have used in other cities and I was surprised when it seemed that they were only on the outskirts- I thought I was reading maps wrong so unfortunately we won’t be able to use them. I will have to look at the weekly Navigo again as we are going to be in Paris from Tuesday- Tuesday and gone from Fri.-most of Sun so first glance thought it wouldn’t work but still like the convenience of buy once and use rest of time instead of every time get on metro or bus.

I do see where you can check to see if elevators are working but I don’t necessarily need an elevator so escalators are fine but also am told frequently aren’t working. Is there site where you can see if escalators are working or if a stop has escalators. Is it also true you need to find a staff member to use an elevator?

The escalators are almost always working, but there is an urban myth here that they are often out of order. This is propogated by the fact that on the day you are really tired, the escalator that you want the most was not working that day.
