Paris - Private guides at the Louvre?

In some cities, local guides are waiting at the museum doors. Are there English speaking guides for hire at the Louvre?

There are no local guides waiting at the museum doors at the Louvre, but you can take group guide tours provided by staff, and you can take audio tours with a little audio player on your own. For private tours by external guides (not museum employees) you must arrange in advance and not right at the entrance to the museum.

Michael Osman would give you an awesome tour.

I don't think you'll find him standing around at the entrance to the Louvre, either.
