Paris Pictures

Now that I've finally finished my trip report, I've put some photos together that can be viewed at:

www.vanne.shutterfly.com

Hope you enjoy!

Very nice. You ate at two restaurants that I like - Reine Blanche and Petit Zinc. Now I'm hungry...

NThea Feb 9th, 2007 02:25 PM

Lovely pictures! What a great way to spend a winter Friday night: sipping a cup of tea and scrolling through Fodorite's Paris picture albums. Ahh....

ilovetulips Feb 9th, 2007 02:52 PM

Thanks, vanne! Your pictures put a smile on my face because we visited many of the same places when we visited Paris. Those pastries are divine, aren't they?

kadurk49 Feb 9th, 2007 02:55 PM

I really enjoyed your pictures and wrote down the resturants you showed as I will be returning in April.

grandmere Feb 9th, 2007 04:05 PM

Great pictures! I, too, was interested to see that you'd eaten at Reine Blanche. It used to be one of my "must do's" every trip, but I haven't heard anything about it recently. How did you find it to be?

artlover Feb 9th, 2007 04:44 PM

Wonderful pictures. Thank you so much for sharing these!

vanne Feb 9th, 2007 04:57 PM

Grandmere - we enjoyed Auberge de la Reine Blanche -- we went for lunch. It's pretty close quarters. I had boeuf bourguignon, which I thought was pretty good (although in all modesty, I've made this dish myself and think mine is equal or better). My husband remembers he enjoyed his lunch too, but can't remember what he had. Prices were reasonable for lunch.

Very, very nice. =D>
Thanks for sharing!

RosieinOz Feb 9th, 2007 06:23 PM

Thanks Vanne
We will be there in 8 weeks today for the first time (we've been no further than NZ!)....you really gave me goose bumps:D
Thanks again
Rosie

Thanks for sharing Vanne.
My husband and I are going in April and seeing all your pictures is really getting me psyched!

tudorprincess Feb 10th, 2007 06:48 AM

Beautiful pictures. Paris looks extremely neat and clean. Makes me want to go to Paris.

Madison Feb 10th, 2007 10:31 AM

vanne - loved your Paris pictures. I can never get enough of them. I will be back in Paris the end of April and can't wait.

Danna Feb 10th, 2007 12:58 PM

Great photos!

betteb Feb 11th, 2007 08:12 AM

Loved your pix! Thanks for posting them.

I also had a wonderful lunch at Auberge de la Reine Blanche. It was three weeks after 911 and they had American flags hanging on the walls with the small furniture. I did not know they were still in business. Their web site has not been active for a couple years.

Your photos were great.

Danna Feb 11th, 2007 02:28 PM

Yikes! I have rheumatoid arthritis, my body is already killing my cells.

I think I'll just go with melatonin. Just like the good old days of the 70s I prefer the sleeping stuff. LOL

Danna Feb 11th, 2007 02:29 PM

oops.. this was supposed to be on the jet lag message. Sorry.

Edye Feb 11th, 2007 03:25 PM

Thanks Vanne. I had "spoken" to you on your other post. You look beautiful. Congratulations on your strength in the face of adversity. We are leaving in 6 weeks and your photos from the Eiffel Tower have just gotten us so excited! I hope we have sunny days too. Stay strong and well.

ssvw27 Feb 11th, 2007 04:41 PM

just happened on your pictures- where can I read your trip report? wonderful pics!! ..oh to be in Paris, now that spring is here...

Barb_in_Ga Feb 11th, 2007 05:08 PM

Lovely pix! They whet my appetite for all things Parisian, so thank goodness I will be there in just 6 weeks, after almost 4 long years without a visit!

vanne Feb 11th, 2007 07:06 PM

ssvw27: glad you enjoyed my photos -- if you click on my screen name at the top it will bring up all my postings, including my trip report.

amwosu Feb 12th, 2007 06:07 AM

Hmmmmm... your lovely interior photos of Le Petit Zinc have pushed it higher on my "to do" places. Thanks for posting your pics.

Michael Feb 12th, 2007 09:44 AM

vanne,

Just curious. Did you actually go upstairs in the Ste. Chapelle? If so, why no photos?

vanne Feb 12th, 2007 03:11 PM

Michael - yes we went upstairs and I do have photos. I realized there were some photos that I neglected to include after I'd put this set together; unfortunately I'm not too adept at the computer and my attempts to add more photos didn't work. I thought I already had more photos than anyone would want to look at, but people seem to like them, so I might put up another set.

DaveBrad Feb 14th, 2007 10:00 AM

These are wonderful! My wife and I are going in April (my first time, her second) and we can't wait. Where are Reine Blanche and Petit Zinc? And, did you have reservations? None of the places in your photos looked too crowded. Thanks!

amwosu Feb 14th, 2007 10:34 AM

Le Petit Zinc is located at 11, rue Saint-Benoit in the 6th.

Go to http://www.bestrestaurantsparis.com/ and pull down "Brasserie" under type of cooking and pull down "6th e" under District and it will come up along with a sample menu.

That is a great site for ideas for spendy meals. Check out Le Cinq and its pricy menu in the 8th. Love that dining room.

vanne Feb 14th, 2007 10:30 PM

DaveBrad - Auberge de la Reine Blanche is located on Ile St. Louis (if you click on my screen name you will find my trip report posting); we enjoyed it very much. The reason our restaurant pictures don't look too crowded is we tend to go early as my husband is very sensitive to smoke.
