Hope to see it, perhaps next year.

I love the comment "through the generosity of his heirs." If I remember the bulk of the paintings were acquired after protracted negotiations with the heirs in lieu of very hefty estate taxes!

Meanwhile, the government officially announced today that the Louvre, the Orsay and Versailles will be open 7 days a week.

However, it may take up to a year to put this in place because they have to negotiate with the workers' unions regarding work schedules and also hire and train more employees.

Those are the only 3 places that will be open every day.

KEROUAC,

"Meanwhile, the government officially announced today that the Louvre, the Orsay and Versailles will be open 7 days a week."

Glad to hear it. Let's hear it for the Brits too who keep major museums open every day of the year except Christmas for the most part.

I will believe the Picasso Museum is open when I see it with my own eyes.

At the moment, these same eyes are seeing absolutely zero activity at the Museum, and I walk by there twice a day, during working hours. There was some talk about removing the hideous galvanized metal pergola that takes up most of the courtyard, but that hasn't even been touched, yet.

Unless they are planning to sneak the artworks in during the dead of night, or are waiting until the last possible moment, to build up the suspense, I don't know how the heck they will get the place ready in time for the 25th.
