Paris Photos...Better late than never?
I just started using Shutterfly, so here are my Paris photos from August 2008!
http://theworldaccordingtoirene.shutterfly.com/ I hope you enjoy them. A votre sante! p.s. Will be uploading Germany and Czech Republic photos in the coming days, so check back if you wish. |
Thanks Irene I enjoyed them.
The man walking through the wall is a famous short story, made into a film. That sculpture was made by Jean Marais, the famous actor and lover of Cocteau. |
Thanks Mimi. So glad you enjoyed them!
|
thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed the stained glass windows. Is there a way to see labels of where the pictures were taken?
Did you go into the Museum of Middle Ages? It looks like a place I would like to include in a trip. |
This was a nostalgic and bittersweet set of photos for me. I remember your trip report well, and I later stayed at that apartment on the recommendation of you and others. So sad knowing that it was subsequently destroyed by fire.
I enjoyed seeing the photos of the Batignolles neighborhood and hope to get back there some day. |
irishface, I'm so glad you enjoyed them! I'll try to find the time to go back and annotate them. Until then, I took the stained glass pictures at the Basilica of St. Denis. And yes, I LOVED the Musee de Moyen Age. It is now one of my favorites. Do go see it!
Hello Nikki. I share your sadness over the loss of, ahem, "my" apartment. I'm glad so many of us got to share in its use while it still stood. |
was that Truffaut's?
|
Yes, it was. Did you ever stay there?
|
Wonderful photos. How sad about the apartment :(
(Your pics of Maui also have me drooling!) |
DOug is in the process of repairing the apt and it should be ready for next season! Loved theParis pictures and I am going to peek at the rest later. I loved St Denis and the areaa there
|
Thank you both. And Avalon, that is fantastic news! I'm sure that apartment is special to so many people. I hope the owners are well.
lantana, if you're interested, I'll be adding Prague photos shortly. Thanks for looking! |
irishface: The Musée National du Moyen Age is my wife's favorite museum, largely because the Unicorn Tapestries are here. It also has some Roman artifacts, in addition to the later medieval items. It's also a great place to buy the Paris Museum Pass, as the line is rarely very long.

I love seeing the pooches in the pics! I also take snaps of pups when traveling ((&))
