Paris photo scavenger hunt?
I was reading the NYT travel section this morning, and saw an article about a photo scavenger hunt for NYC where the goal is to seek out scenes that are "intrinsically NYC" to capture with in a photo. Some of the categories included "biggest crowd waiting for a brunch table", "cheesiest statue of liberty souvenier", "a traffic police officer smiling", "most monstrous baby stroller", and "most unusual piece of refuse".
So, I thought this could be a fun ongoing 'activity' for our upcoming trip to paris - something that gets us out of the mode of going from site to site, and helps us appreciate what makes paris unique. What are the quintessential paris scenes you would include on a paris photo scavenger hunt? |
anyone walking out of a bakery with a BAGUETTE
picture down the Champs Elysees with the Arc de triomphe anything Eiffel... it lights up at night (flashy lights), so that would be good Pyramid at the Louvre a la DaVinci Code :) fashionable lady in dark shades cities at a sidewalk cafe watching YOU watching HER watch the world go by, cigarette in one hand, coffee in the other WITH a miniature (insert dog type here) at her Gucci encased feet! sketch artist doing a portrait in the Place du Tertre near the Sacre Coeur Just a few things that I saw a few weeks ago in Paris! |

Someone wearing a beret, smoking a cigarette and riding a bike with a baguette. Someone riding a bike with a basket with a cat looking out. Someone urinating against a wall. A pile of dog poop (See "Little Murders") A couple smooching along the banks of the Seine. A New Orleans style jazz band. Someone eating steak frites with a galss of wine at an outdoor cafe. A marquee advertising a Jerry Lewis movie. A glow-in-the-dark-light-up-and-flash Eiffel tower souvenir. ((I)) |
An original art nouveau Metro entrance.
The miniature Statue of Liberty. French fries in a sandwich on display. Group having a picnic on the lower concrete "banks" of the Seine. Someone getting in or out of a taxi with their dog. An artist sitting and painting a picture (Montmarte, not included). Bonus points if he or she is wearing a beret. A rack of chickens on the rotisserie outside a food market. Display of cheeses at a street market. |
Used Metro tickets littering the ground at any Metro entrance.
A Paris street name up on the corner of a building. A handwritten menu de jour outside a café or restaurant. One of those little traffic signals at eye level (I just took a picture of one of those last week.) A newspaper kiosk on a street corner. One of the working boats on the Seine, complete with garden, TV antenna, clothesline, and automobile on the rear superstructure. One of Paris's red Sapeur-Pompier firetrucks. Racy lingerie ads in the Metro. One of those signs in the Metro that list all the stops in the direction you're headed. A Paris bus. Anselm |
