Paris Perfect's new "Meursault" apartment will be online within the next week or so.

I have all the finished pictures now. I have it rented for a month from mid Sept. to mid Oct. It is lovely, with spectacular views from the 8th floor.

Watch for it..you will like it.....

gracejoan,

Where is it located? In the 7th, I'd guess, but was wondering. Thanks.

I LOVE their apartments! I'm sure the new one will be as fabulous as all the rest.

A whole month in Paris in what I am sure is going to be a "perfect" apartment sounds so wonderful. I'll be checking their website to see the new place.

Enjoy!

We stayed in Paris Perfect's Champagne apt in August 2005. The people who run PP are very nice to work with. I thought that we had reached "critical mass" when my husband retired in '99, but now I wish he had worked longer. We love those apts, although I preferred the style of Campagne before its renovation. But PP would not allow one of their places to get shabby and perhaps it needed an overhaul.

We've stayed in Montrachet three times and liked it much better before the renovations, and the huge price hike.

We stayed at the Pinot and enjoyed it very much. Is it just me or have the prices gone through the roof in recent times? I can't remember them being so expensive three years ago. There is no way we could stay there for a month. I guess there must be a lot of people out there with a lot of money!

Whilst we enjoyed the location and everything about the apartment I dont' think it is worth the $$$ that they are now charging. It was pleasant but with quite basic furnishings, OK not basic but not over the top either.

The Meursault is located at 9 ave de la Motte Picquet. Very near the La Tour Maubourg metro. Le Florimond restaurant is nearby, #19.

The views are spectacular..all of Paris out there! You are on 8th floor..American.

Re PP prices...they have discounts going now or will be soon. You will find them on their postings on the VRBO website. Yes, they are on VRBO..individual listings. Also, discounts for the longer stays..like my month stays...plus a "regular" often receives an upgrade when/if available, like I did in April. I was upgraded to the lovely St. Amour from the Kir!

Everything has increased pricewise. They are comparable with other high quality places. They supply all the services and are there for your every need. Don't forget all are A/C and have free ohone to US and most countries.. and WI-FI. Madelyn does such a great job in decorating. They re-do them when needed. Keep them from becoming shabby.

Yes, I am obviously a PP believer! I have rented many, many apartments, and stayed in many hotels. Taking everything into consideration, I have come to believe that PP is best all around, for me. Most are in the 7th and I like the village feel of the 7th. Feels like "home" when I arrive. They do have a few in other areas now. My some 40 plus restaurant list for fall finds most in the 7th or nearby, with easy access to them.

Part of the reason I do the month stays is because the flight is sooo miserable! I also have a PP for a month stay mid April-mid May, 2009.

I will let you know when the Meursault is on their website..or take a look occasionally in the next week or so.

Enjoy......

The only thing that prevents me from renting a ParisPerfect flat these days is the cost. We stayed in Cabernet in May 2005, and had a simply lovely week. I keep searching for a substitute in this part of the 7th, but they're hard to find. IMO, PP's prices are quite a bit higher than many other Paris vacation rentals. The search continues...EJ

Go to VRBO site and you will find 20% off on the PP apartments!!

As t comparing prices with others sites. One that comes to mind is the guestapartment site. They have quality places.

Gracejoan: We rented from Guest Apartment Services in October. Excellent firm to deal with, lovely flats. We didn't like the Ile St.Louis location as much as the 7th, however. Stayed last month in a very beautiful flat in the 1st on rue des Petits Champs. An excellent value for the quality and size of the apartment (we were 5 adults). It was a great location for our 3 first-timers, but much too busy for the Paris regulars among us. I guess I owe the board a short trip report, as we sampled many restos in this area of the 1st/2nd arrondissement that I would be happy to report on. BTW, on your recommendation, I booked Shuttle Inter and was very pleased with their service. Thanks again, EJ

I agree that PP has some super flats with tasteful decorations and excellent service. However I have concluded that they have begun to price themselves out of our American market. You might want to consider a stunning apartment that my husband and I just adore, and it's a lot less expensive. Here is the owner's website www.wewillalwayshaveparis.net

Lilliancroft: It's a small world in Fodorsville! We've stayed in Michael's lovely apartment twice over the last five years. Excellent accommodations, but I start to get what I've come to term "courtyard claustrophobia" after a week without a view or balcony access. I do agree with you that PP has become very expensive for those of us who pay in USDollars. Their views/balconies, however, are just magnificent. EJ

Unfortunately, it is our dollar that is the problem!! Many of us can remember when we paid only 75% of the prices..now the shoe is on the other foot. I think many are doing lunches at starred places and their "specials", rather than dinner!

EJ..Glad the airport service worked well for you. I will be reserving them for Sept/Oct. I also agree about Ile St. Louis. I have stayed there.

Looked at the Chez Michael..read your comments, too. It looks nice , but not like a parisperfect.com

If you go to PP and tell them you are a Fodor's forum person, I think you will receive a discount...also, the 20% from their VRBO site listings. A few years ago they went from listing their apartments in dollars to euros, which made a difference in the appearance.

I look at other places..it is just a fun thing to do..but....when I compare all the amenities, including A/C (I forget this, as I don't travel in the summer), with PP, and location, location, I am just a PP person!

I would love to be a PP person too, but I think I have to wait until the $ gets stronger.

Wonder if that will happen in the near future...

celiaanne,

I don't think we can look for our $ to improve much in the near future!!

To be a PP person, check their off season prices, ask about any discounts because you are a Fodor's forum person, etc. You might that it is easier than you think!!

good luck,

Joan

Gracejoan - I owe you big time!!!!!

Last November we reserved Champagne for Sept '08 & made our initial payment then (Nov). We were getting ready to make our final payment today. I saw your thread and contacted Paris Perfect about the 20% discount - with little hope of getting it.

They came through and gave us a full 20% !!! That came to about $2,000.
