joan, Thank you! 20% makes up for some of the $/Euro disadvantage.

Good for you Stu! What an unexpected "windfall."

An update for those interested. I called to check for a friend and this is the latest for those who mention Fodor's:

15% for high season/autumn season and a 10% discount for low season for Fodorites. Not for studios, as they are already low priced.

Check further with parisperfect.com and a telephone call. There can also be last minute cancellations..never can tell!!

I may be making another trip to Paris before the end of the year.

Sounds pretty exciting to think about it.

I am working on air fare for various dates between now and Christmas. I am running into some pretty good fares.

The PP combination of the improved dollar against the euro, with their rates being in euros, along with the above discounts really adds up to some pretty nice discounts!!

I WILL make it to Paris again, before Christmas!!

a bientot.....

Joan, when I die, I want to come back as YOU!! Your lifestyle is my dream! When is the new PP apartment going to be online? Forgot the name ......... but you'll know~!

Wish I could get to Paris but my retirement accounts have gone into the tank along with everyone else's and I just can't justify that kind of money right now (love the PP discounts!).

Hope you get to Paris before Christmas --- seems like you just got back -- lucky you!!!!

Enjoy!

luvparee,

I did just return...10/11 after staying there for a month! The best of all previous trips combined!!!I will be going in April/May '09 for a month and then the month of Nov. '09.

That trip I was in the Meursault and a new one that is probably not online, yet, the Moulin-a-Vent. A darling apartment..all who saw it raved about it!!

Will see where I might be able to stay on this next shorter trip..wherever I end up, it is a Paris Perfect, and they are all great!

I know what you mean about portfolios dropping!! I am waiting for some year end distributions to be declared now..usually large..will see how bad they are, soon!! Only way to look at it is less income taxes, I guess!

I may be able to a little running trip report, as I did for Sept/Oct. It was fun and many seemed to enjoy it. Will see what my dates are going to be.

a bientot,

Joan

I am all set for Paris in December!

I leave here on 12/3 and I will leave Paris on 12/15. I first checked with Air France. Theirs was a bit cheaper but did not like the schedule as well as the Delta one that I ended up with. I would have preferred going via CVG (Cinn) but am going via ATL. $818.98.

I have a friend joining me who got a great deal from SF, less than mine..I think she said $757..non-stop.

I have the great airport transportation service that I use already notified. They didn't think they would see me til April. Surprise!!

I have my medical evacuation insurance taken care of, too.

In the morning I will call Daniel Rose to see about dining there.

My cats are lined up for their vacation while I am gone.

I will be staying in a www.parisperfect.com apartment, of course!

This is an unexpected trip and I am very excited about returning to Paris so soon!

A question to all: Would you like us to do a running trip report as was done in Sept/Oct. Can give you weather, make reservations, and tell you where we have dined and what we have been up to!

Let me know. I will have my laptop.

a bientot....

Joan,

Paris Parfait? Mais oui!

With all the exclamatory praise you heap on Paris Perfect on several message boards, steering business to them, promoting their newest apartments before they even come on line, I can't believe they don't give you these apartments to stay in for FREE! Not merely a 20 percent discount!

Is it true?

I just happen to like the area that most of the PP are in along with liking their apts..not much not to like.

Sorry, can't help but praise them. I think others who have stayed in one, do the very same. I know Stu Dudley recently said they ate in at least 50% of the time because they enjoyed their apt. so much.

I take advatage of the off season and/or special rates along with everyone else, whenever possible.

Stay in one and you will sing their praises, too!!

a bientot...

Joan, Joan, Joan...

Of course we want a running report. If we can't be there with you, we can pretend! Just like Joy/luvparee says - I want to be YOU one day!

Hi Stu,

Yes, you met Lilia at the recent Fodor's GTG out there.

She checked the air fare and found it was so cheap that she couldn't afford not to go!! That good non-stop flight, too.

Come join us..some apt. bargains..maybe you could get the Champagne again!!

Hi to Ellen...

a bientot,

Hi Stu,

I just got off the phone with Lilia. She was online with A/F when talking with her. The fare was the same..$757. She was looking for her fly blue or whatever number to give them for FF points. She will be emaailing me a copy of her schedule shortly.

Roberta:

We will try to keep you updated. Just sent and e-mail to Florent, Michael and Jacqueline with our dates. We may try for some kind of GTG at Cafe Max..Valdo doesn't expect me til April! Surprise!

a bientot...

Joan

Joan - where do your cats go on vacation while you are gone? Do they miss you terribly? I'm asking because we always have a difficult time finding someone to take care of them when we go to Europe for 2-3 weeks.

I'm sure they would love to go to Paree with you!

jenblase,

I feel so lucky to have found such a great place. My cats did not do well with someone just coming by to feed them and clean out litter box. Tried that for a weekend, once! They want someone to live here with them. That does not mean that they need to sit here all day. They at least want them to sleep here. That can be hard to find, or cost prohibitive!

We have a local place called Just Cats..here is their website:http://www.justcatswnc.com/page2.html

It is really very nice..not inexpensive, but you don't feel guilty leaving them in some little cage. They get our into the big room for hours at a time...have shelves to sit on and look out the window in their rooms..my two have large adjoining places with a door to go between the two.

She stays busy year round. Has some person who goes to animal shelter and asks for the uglisest, and meanest cat they have. She then pays for it to have a home at Just Cats...go figure it!

a bientot...
