Paris Pass v. Museum Pass

What is the advantage of one type of card versus the other?

I was going to purchase the Museum Pass, however, someone in my travel group researched the Paris Pass (!! -- for those of you following my other threads, you will appreciate my surprise at this turn of events).....and believe the Paris Pass is a better deal.

I can't determine which is better.

Any opinions out there are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Judy

If you compare the 2 passes you will see that the Paris Pass costs a lot more than buying the museum pass plus metro tickets. I would never buy the Paris Pass.

I don't understand why you can't see which one is better. Did you not look at the pricing?

Paris pass - 2 day adult pass - E105
Museum pass - 2 day adult pass - E39
10 metro tickets - about E12

The Paris pass offers some other things but you have to figure out if you want to do those things. You have to make the choice and even if your friend buys the Paris Pass you don't have to.

Sorry but I can't appreciate your surprise and you didn't take the time to explain.

the vast majority of tourists to Paris will find a Museum Pass a much better deal than the Paris Pass, for the reasons adrienne gives - Paris Pass includes things most tourists will not do or need - unless perhaps you are riding the metro/RER all day long and then even the Navigo )formerly Carte Orange) may be a better deal overall.

I personally did not look at the pricing, someone else did but didn't give me the quote. But you are SO right!

I'm sticking with the Museum Pass.

Thank you!

The Paris Pass covers MANY things that I would not go to if I had 2 weeks in Paris, let alone 4 days. It is an overpriced marketing tool.

I just did a quick review of what each offers and the cost difference and I agree, the Paris Pass is not worth purchasing.

Thanks again everyone!

travel agents sell my friends here who go to Paris every once in a while the Paris Pass and my friends rave about it - not knowing they are way overpaying for something blindly recommended by a travel agent - yes strictly a marketing tool by RailEurope who wholesales these passes, to sell something that sounds nice and convenient to clueless foreign tourists.

Just got back -- we bought the Museum Pass and it was a great choice!
