paris outlet shopping for lingerie
we will be in paris in march. can anyone tell me if there are any outlet stores for french lingerie? i am partial to aubade lingerie. if there are not any outlet stores, can someone tell me if there are any good stores to shop at that might have some of their lingerie on sale?
thanks in advance for your info. |
I'm not a big shopper, but I know there are various discount stores on rue Alesia (overstock, last year's goods, etc.) and I know there are a couple lingerie stores there as I was in them. I do not recall any great bargains, of course, nor exact labels. I think the lingerie stores tend to be closer to metro Alesia than the western part of that street.
There is an outlet "mall" out near Disney, La Vallee. They do have a lingerie store out there, Chantelle. There are several regular lingerie stops on rue de Rennes on the southern part closer to the Montparnasse tower. At least closer to that than bd St Germain. There might be some all along, that's a big shopping street, but they did not seem like bargains to me, they are just regular shops. Of course, Galleries Lafayette has a huge lingerie dept. Stores don't generally have sales in March, they would be in Jan or early Feb. You could probably do better just buying online, I bet. |
xman, you can buy aubade on-line. Amazon carries it as do many other sellers. No need to wait until you're in Paris.

We have a thread on La Valle Outlet. Do a search. Personally I found La Valle a total waste of time. That outlet doesn't come close to any discount outlet we have in the outer areas of L.A. The other posters, on that thread, bascially found it a waste of time, too. I thought the prices were way inflated. Happy Travels!

I see. In that case, Paris is full of lingerie shops. I suggest you come during the biannual sales. One is in winter, the other summer. In fact, if you hurry you can still catch the winter sales. They end Feb 11 (I believe). The next sales event will begin at the end of June.

By the way, look for big signs with the word "Soldes" on them. You'll know you've arrived.
