You asked about a guide. There is a wonderful guide named Michael Osman. I think he has a website called Paris Find. We used him a month ago. I found out about him on another message board. You just tell him what you want to see and he constructs his time with you around your interests.

Yes, that's him. I think I read of him on RickSteves.com I just was planning on doing our own walking tour using what I've read.

Tell me what was so much better having him tell you. I like inductive sometimes more than deductive, but I'm open for info.

I cannot imagine not being impressed with Versailles, however you will be very stimulated staying in Paris. Perhaps you can save the big chateaus for your next trip. Personally, my favorite has always been Fountainblu. I say next trip because you will definately be going back!

Since it's barely 3 days, I'd definitely stick to Paris!! And only the central arrondisements at that (maybe 4th, definitely 5, 6, 7). It is a huge city and you'll do alot of walking (I assume). You will barely scratch the surface. To me, to put a day trip in the middle would leave just shreads of time on either side (that's how it would feel to me) to rush around a few places within the city.

What about using one of those bus tours that goes around to the main tourist 'attractions'? I've never done it (but I had a longer time in Paris) but seems it would be an efficient way to see some of the highlights in only a few hours.

Thanks again! Hey guys, how about it? A bus tour like Suze recommends? That sounds intriguing. That way I get an overview of the city? I was going to follow Rick Steves advise and adjust it to scheduled daily closings. He has a Paris in 3 days itinerary. Whew!!

We leave in 12 hours! And I feel like a train ran over me. I hope I don't snore too loud on the plane! LOL!!!

Au Revoir.

Hi Mom,

We always take a short bus tour of each new city we visit in order to get our bearings.
