Paris or Prague
Two of my recently post-college friends and I are traveling europe and we can spend one day in one city and two days in another (not including travel days). Between Pair and Prague which city deserves the extra day? We are not huge museum buffs.

if you are not huge museum fans i would have to say Prague for two days. the first time i was thier i planed on staying for a couple of days and i ended up staying for a month. i cant say enough about it. i keep going back. Paris is increadible but you could get the idea in one day of walking around a lot. iknow it sounds cheasy but i did a river cruise at night and it was great. we had wine and all of the lights of the city came on!

Oh, they are both fantastic cities even if you don't like museums - I'm not a "museum person," either, but I've been to Paris three times and would go back tomorrow. I've only been to Prague once but can't wait to go back!
Prague is far smaller than Paris, for what that's worth. You could take in the core of it in far less time than you could take in Paris. Both cities are just wonderful places to stroll and say, "Wow, I can't believe I'm HERE!!!" I guess I'd lean toward two days in Paris, one day in Prague, if I HAD to choose... |
What does the rest of your trip look like? Where else are you going?
One or two days isn't even close to enough time to even scratch the surface of either Prague or Paris. I can't imagine trying to get even an introductory feel of Paris in less than three days. Prague is much smaller and you could get a very brief intro to it in two days. So are you traveling from one to the other? If so I'd scratch that plan and spend all four days in one city. I'd pick Paris but Prague is a wonderful place too. So it would totally depend on where else you are going to be and for how long. I'm not a museum person either. |
Been to Paris twice and Prague once (went to Praque and Paris in one trip but stayed in Prague 5 days & Paris 3 days). I love Paris but would definitely recommend Prague for your longer stay. There is so much history and it is so gorgeous and unique. It's a city but quaint & charming and easy to walk around.

I love Prague but Paris has about 5 times as many things to see and do - not even looking at a museum. But, I don;t think the 1 and 2 day split makes sense - I would do 3 days in one or the other - but without seeing the rest of your itinerary it's hard to comment.

I love them both. I was recently in Prague for 2 days and night; have been to Paris twice and going back in September. I felt two days allowed me to see much of Prague; in 2 weeks I'm not sure I'd see all of Paris. Paris is certainly more than just museums. I'd choose the extra time in Paris.

Paris--no contest!

"I love Prague but Paris has about 5 times as many things to see and do"
agree ( even more than 5 times)! |
Paris-hands down. It has so many things going for it and is so easy to get around.Food and wine are fabulous;shopping;sightseeing, etc. are hands down better than Prague (in my opinion).
My son studied a semester in Prague and I fly there alot with my job with the airlines-still don't "get" the fascination with Prague even with my history degree over other big cities in Europe? |
