We also enjoyed Le Bilboquet, on the rue Saint Benoit, for jazz. Go about 10:30 PM, if you don't want to go to dinner, but just want to listen to the music. Drinks are expensive, but there's no cover charge, and they don't push you to buy more drinks.

Just returned from Paris. Saw Moulin Rouge and was disappointed. We saw the late show because it was part of an evening cruise/dinner tour which overall was good. At MR we were crammed in and it was even too much trouble to go to the bathroom [I would hate to be in there if a fire broke out].
Lots of glitz and glamour, great costuming etc but some of the performers were not up to scratch. Show was disjointed with several other acts thrown in that would be more at home in a circus although they were great in their own right. If you are keen I would suggest the early show [late show started about 11.45PM, 45mins late] and book your own tickets in the section close to the stage and not further back. |
Have seen ballet at Opera Bastille 5 yrs ago, and ballet just last Sat at Theater Champs-Ellyses. Had much better seats at Opera Bastille. Plus is that the metro station is right outside.
Have also seen circus twice. Last time was Zingaro (2 yrs ago). Would highly recommend going. Much more artistic and an event than other circuses you have probably attended. Lots of horses. |
I have been to the show at Moulin Rouge three times an plan on seeing it again in Sept.2007 ,I loved it it's all about tast an what everyone likes ,Going to the Moulin Rouge is something you should see if your going to Paris!
