Notre Dame is certainly open, it being a catholic church ;-) I believe most of the sights are open. The Louvre is closed on Tuesday, for example.

cactus

The Pantheon was opened. Many cafes, a few bistros were opened on Sundays (5th, 6th and 7th ere)

Carole, on Sundays most sights are open but many stores are closed. While its not uncommon for restaurants to be closed on Sundays, there are still many that are open. I do find that it's worth doing some advance planning for Sunday dining. One of my favourites for Sunday bistro dining is "Le Vieux Bistro" near Notre Dame (reservations recommended).

Zagat.com is a great source for restaurant info and will allow you to sort for restaurants that are open Sundays (using "advanced search" and then, "select special features").

I believe the Louvre is open at a reduced rate. Paris was pretty quiet when we were there on a Sunday. It was still nice to walk around & see the city. Some of the galleries were open as I remember.

Anita:

I believe what you are referring to is the fact that the first Sunday of each month, the Louvre doesn't charge admission. I don't recall any dicounts on any other Sundays.
