Paris-Normandy
 

After reading all of the information regarding trips to normandy from Paris, I would love to spend the night in Bayeux but I really don't see how I can rearrange the schedule to fit that in.The only way that I can figure it is if when we arrive in Paris from London via the Eurostar on Tuesday afternoon,August 29 We take the train directly to Bayeux.Is this possible?

where can I find Information on trains to Normandy?
Am I better off taking a bus tour directly from paris to Normandy or am I better off taking the train to Bayeux and then taking a tour ?

It looks to me like you've figured out how to do it. Take RER B to Gare du Nord, change for RER E to St-Lazare, and take the train to Bayeux. Schedules are here:

But I must say that if you do all of this late in the afternoon, you'll only have one day on the ground in Normandy anyway, so you might as well check into your Paris hotel upon arrival and take the first train to Caen the next day, see the sights, and return on the last train from Bayeux. This would avoid changing hotels for no purpose - unless sleeping in Normandy is the goal.

Alternative plans - can take boats from southern England to Cherbourg or Oustreham, the latter a few miles from the D-Day beaches - overnight services as well as catamarans for as low as 29 euros in daytime. then you're right at the Bayeux area - return to Paris by about hourly trains (about two hours).

Try a google 'ferry cherbourg'
or 'ferry portsmouth'. I think that P&O runs some ferries. There are others also.

Just google "ferries from England to Normandy."

Question- which of these schedules make the most sense?

#1- Train from London to Portsmouth and then ferry to Caen and then train to Bayeux-spend the night -tour normandy and then train to paris

#2- Eurostar from London to Paris then train to bayeux-spend the night -tour normandy and then train to paris

Bear in mind that Ouistreham, where the ferry arrives, is about 20km from the centre of Caen. You will need to take a taxi or bus to get from the terminal to the train station. You might be able to take a bus directly from Ouistreham to Bayeux.

When I get off the ferry, will there be taxis there to take me to caen?

I taxied from Caen to Oustreham and paid 35 euros - two years ago when gas was cheaper - i thought i was being ripped off but it is about 10 miles.
