paris nightlife/dancing

my husband i will be in paris for 5 nights this july and are looking to go dancing now and again. we are americans in our early 40's(you know, the new 30's :) ) and enjoy a diversity of musical styles from '80's pop(obviously) to house/electronic, to good old fashioned jazz. does anyone have suggestions for a club or 3? QUEEN seems to be very popular and sounds a great time, but again, we are in our 40's and don't want to look foolish in the paris club scene-is this even possible???? thanks for any suggestions!

The Queen is reputed to attract a very young crowd.

Kerouac...what's the age range for the club area in the 10th?

kerouac Feb 7th, 2011 09:20 AM

All ages go to the places in the 10th and the 11th.

I would also suggest Caveau de la Huchette if you don't mind jazz, it's not going to be like a regular DJ dancing club, though. I know all ages are in there.

After that, I'd suggest maybe Batofar which is on a boat on the Seine in the 13th arr (near quai Mauriac, I think, not far from the new library). They might have a website like www.batofar.org

I know some popular clubs up in the 9th or Montmartre, but most clubs seem to be mainly young people, I think (meaning 20s), sort of goes with the territory.
