Paris Nightlife?

Hello Everyone - We are three ladies that will be spending 5 nights in Paris in June. I have been before but never out and about at night. Any suggestions?

You posed a wide open Q.

What are you looking for? Whatever it is Paris has it and pro. Be specific about your interests. I'm sure you will receive more replies and more on the mark of what night life you seek.

Ditto what hopscotch said, what type of nightlife? What do you like? What age group? jazz, disco, pubs, concerts, dancing, scene and be seen? etc.

I enjoyed this nightclub, starts around 10pm. Has jazz & swing music. You can dance here or just listen; small cover charge.
Caveau de la Huchette, rue de la Huchette near Place St Michel.

The Marais, Bastille, Republique and Oberkampf neighborhoods have the most trendy and/or popular nightlife of Paris. Pick up a copy of Time Out Paris to find out the current hot nightspots are. Check out the venerable disco Queen on Champs Elysees, too.

You can also go to www.timeout.com and click on Paris for lots of information for the night as well as the day. Have fun.

There's a great salsa club called Cafe Latina just off the Champs Elysees near the George V metro station. It's three floors, with the main dance floor on the basement floor. It's fantastic - but be prepared for crowds!! To get away from the crowds, there's a bar with seats on the top floor that wasn't too busy when we were there (and that was a Friday night).

Buddha Bar is also a very hip place for drinks. Dress in your trendiest clothes to get in!!

There is an English Pub that has a good crown on the weekends called the Bombadier Pub Below the Pantheon. It would be good for a group and a few drinks. We had a good night there chatting to the barman and having a few drinks.

Hi - Me again - well I'm not sure what we want! That's the problem. I guess dancing? or bars?
The suggestions above are good.
Thanks

Try Au Lapin Agile in Montmartre for one of the oldest cabaret shows in\
Paris - nothing like the Moulin Rouge or Lido or Crazy Horse, just a neighborhood cabaret where people gather to sing old songs.

I second the suggestion of Lapin Agile... my husband and I went last year, and we loved it! That was one of the two times we heard French music when we were in Paris.... otherwise, it was American music. The other time we heard traditional French music was on the rue Mouffetard... also great!

Best,
Sandy

I second Nancy's recommendation of the Caveau de la Huchette for a good dancing bar. Go to the cave downstairs.

We stayed in Montmartre a couple of years ago in February and went to the caberet at Au Lapin Agile, which was just down the street from our apartment in Montmartre.

We were in there for about a 1/2 hour, and everyone was singing in French. We had no clue what the heck was going on (we don't speak French), and got up and walked out only to find that there was a lady in the cloakroom rifling thru the coat pockets.

There were others in the room who, from the expressions on their faces, had no clue either. ((b))
