Paris/Nice weather - 4/25 or 5/16?

We are trying to plan our first trip to Paris/Nice and we only have 7 days. We are debating on going April 25 or May 16th. Is there a big difference in the weather? Can you help us?
Thanks! Krystin

We were in London and Paris the last week of April and the first week of May and both places were very cold. I would definitely suggest the week of May 16. The day we flew out of London back to the US it turned very springlike and beautiful. There was also a report on the BBC about the end of April, first of May being notoriously cold.

I guess we hit unusual weather this past April - we were in Provence & Paris the 22 April through the 29 April. The weather was glorious, actually warm enough for swimmming in Provence. We ate outside in the evenings in both Provence & Paris. Of course, this could have been great luck for us.

The Cannes film fest is at that point in May, crowds and higher prices might be an issue for the Nice portion of your trip. Just a consideration.

May is the big month for holidays in France--be sure that what you want to see will be open when you're there.
