I'm leaving for Paris on the 23rd, and that hasn't changed. The riots are not in the city, so it doesn't really make a difference to our plans. We are keeping an eye out, of course, but not letting it ruin our vacation.

Go - it's OK - I just got back - no problems

A friend who lives in Montmartre says she never saw much happening even when things were going on in the suburbs. Even in the suburbs, I think they have quieted down. Anyone who lives in Paris says everything is just fine there. I know that if my husband and I had plans to go at Thanksgiving, we would go.

Chill. It will be absolutely fine.

Chill is right—Paris is in the middle of a cold snap this week. It barely edged above freezing this weekend, which is very unusual for this time of year. (The normal daily high in November is around 50° F, and the temperature rarely drops below freezing for more than a short period even during the coldest weeks of winter.)

My wife and I (Dallas residents) are headed to Paris during the Thanksgiving holidays and haven't changed our plans one bit. The plane leaves from DFW International on Tuesday evening, and we're on it, baby. The only thing we thought about doing was taking a taxi from CDG instead of taking the train. But now, I don't even think we'll bother with the taxi. Bottom line is...there is a restaurant at the bottom of the Lamark-Caulaincort metro stop that is begging us for a second visit and another one on Rue Lepic that always seems to squeeze its way into our rotation. There is also this really cool lunch place we found near Place Vendome that we visited last time we were there, and we wake up at night hearing that place scraming at us as well. Who are we to disappoint such fine dining establishments? I say, "Get on that plane."

I hope you have decided to go -- this is a great time of year to visit "The City of Lights"

I am currently living in Paris. There is absolutely no danger or rioting at all. The effiel tower is fine frolm were i can see it and my friend went to Versailles on the weekend.

I am not totally unsymathetic to your husbands plight as my parents cancelled a trip to see me in Paris depsite my assurances that it was safe.

Now my parents feel just a bit 'silly' at wasting a good opportunity to be in Paris.

Are people still fretting about the so-called “riots”? There was never any problem in Paris, and there isn't any problem anywhere now. It was just a rash of vandalism in the suburbs and a few other places far from Paris.
