Paris Museum Passes
 

What are the most reliable sites to purchase Museum passes in Paris?? My husband and I will be there for 4 days in mid-November.

Do you have some concern? Every place that sells them is 'reliable'.

Just buy your passes from whichever site you plan on visiting first (assuming you have done the calculations that you'll get enough use from it to pay for itself)

In other words - all the museums that honor the card also sell it. Plus there are a few other points of sale other than museums. Pick the most convenient according to your plans.

but don't bother to buy them in advance... isn't worth the extra shipping cost - just get them there.

Rick Steves says you can buy them at CDG.

Buy yours at one of the smaller museums (like the Rodin), so you will already have it in hand and can skip the lines at the larger, busier museums like the Louvre, etc.

We bought ours at Orly so I imagine they would be available at CDG as well.

Does Rick Steves say exactly where you can buy them at CDG? I've been in and out of CDG more than 100 times and I wouldn't have a clue where to go looking for a museum pass there, nor would I want to spend more than 10 seconds hunting for one there when it's just common sense to pick it up at the first museum you visit or at a major métro stop where you're already going to be going to the window to buy a carnet or whatever.

Rick Steves book indicates that across from Gate 6 in each hall at CDG is an orange ADO desk that can direct you where to buy the pass

I don't know how much of the info on this thread is accurate, including that all museums on the pass sell it. They used to, but I don't think they do any more.

I would presume you could buy them at a Paris tourist booth, at an airport or in the city or some train stations.

This may be a novel idea, but why not go to the pass' official website and see where they claim you cn buy it instead of checking Rick Steves or people's random comments. There you can see exactly where you can buy it at CDG, I don't know why that was such a suspect idea.

If it works with your schedule, buy the pass near closing time at the museum/monument most convenient to wherever you plan to be at 4-5 pm on the day before you intend to start using the pass, whether or not that is a museum you plan to visit. Even at the busiest museums, there's not much of a line late in the day.

Here's the list of places to buy the pass, including 5 locations at CDG though it does seem more convenient to me to buy it in Paris at your first stop or at a smaller museum.
