Paris Museum Pass starts with first entry?

Or is it with the first purchase?

Is there some electronic recording indicating when the pass was first used? Or do they just write down the dates?

I was thinking of purchasing it on a Monday night to use Tuesday to Friday.

Also, Invalides is not included? Can that be right?

The pass starts the first museum or site you visit. They simply write the day on the pass whne you use it the first time. You could buy the pass a day, week or months in advance and it would not start until the first museum

the Invalides is covered. Where did you get the idea it isn't?

I checked the parismuseumpass.fr site and looked up the list by name.

I didn't see it under "Invalides" or "Hotel des Invalides."

Seemed like a strange omission.

It's listed as: "Musee de l'Armee, Tombeau de Napoleon 1er"

sandyh beat me to it -- Musée de L’Armée

Then why repeat it?

janisj Jun 24th, 2006 10:26 AM

If it is ANY of your business - I was writing and just as I went to post sandy posted hers -- so I deleted a bit more I had written and added "sandyh beat me"

Next time, delete the rest. No one cares.

...I'd rather have someone be conversational than cantankerous...

Preference noted.

That's like when someone answers a questions and 5 people feel compelled to post "I agree" . . . I think some people like to hear themselves talk.

scrb you might want to purchase your pass from a smaller museum first so you can use it to you advantage (line jumping) in the larger museums like the Louvre. No sense waiting in a long line to buy it.

Travelnut Jun 25th, 2006 07:21 AM

I think multiple-but-same responses are offered as with the intention of "validating" the original one.

Christina Jun 25th, 2006 08:18 AM

I agree with Travelnut, if a person asks a question, I think one could presume they would like to hear from as many people as possible rather than just assuming the first person who answers is the only one entitled to answer and the only one with a valid opinion. Even if the other opinions are the same, I would sure like to know it if 10 people agreed on something versus two thinking differently versus one agreement.

No one has the right to say other people aren't allowed to express their opinions on here, even if they think they own the post or response.

Robespierre Jun 25th, 2006 09:20 AM

I might agree if the post under discussion were one where a legitimate range of opinion exists. But it's not.

The name of the museum in question as listed in the Museum Pass literature is a matter of absolute fact, not individual taste. Once the correct variant has been posted, the OP can go to the site and verify it. No further discussion, variation, or assent is necessary or appropriate. No amount of agreement will make it more right.

"Me too" posts look stupid.
