Paris museum pass and other time saving tips
Is the museum pass in Paris a smart buy? Any other thoughts on how to best navigate the sites. I will be travelling with a family of five including my three girls ages 14, 11 and 9.
thanks, Geoff |
As an add on, any advice on taking the Paris river cruise - day or night, leave from where, and what company?
thanks |
Hi,
How many museums will you visit? The children enter for free. You might like to get a daypass on the batobus for your river cruise. See www.batobus.com |
I found the Museum pass very useful - if only for the fact that it will let you get into the Musee D'Orsay a lot easier (rather than queueing, you can walk in through the gift shop if you have a museum pass)
Also, I found the list of museums that comes with the card very useful - it gave me a few ideas of places to go that I might not have thought of (or might not have bothered with had I needed to pay in). I got some very nice surprises. Of course, it depends on how much patience your girls have for museums & such. -- Viola |
Definitely take a river cruise. After several times, we have decided we prefer the Bateaux Mouches (leaves from the Right Bank of the Pont d'Alma). We enjoyed leaving early evening while it is still light, watching the lights of Paris come on and finishing the trip after dark. The trips last about an hour.
