Paris/Mou;in Rouge
Any feedback on a show at Moulin Rouge? I have heard mixed reviews...
|
When I was there 35 years ago, it felt like a cheap tourist rip-off--milking everything it could from its famous name and history.
I can't imagine it's gotten much better. |
Here's your mixed review:
We call it Disneyland Montmartre. The floor show is about a 7 on a scale of zero to Las Vegas, the food is execrable, and the beverage prices are astronomical. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Get the T-Shirt. |
I've never been, but I read that it's better to skip the dinner and just see the show (if you're going to see it at all). Some friends and I followed that approach when seeing a burlesque show in Las Vegas and actually had a fun time (you really need a good sense of kitsch and humor).

Hi M,
I deduce that this is your first time to Paris. The BurleQues are very low done on my list of things to do there. If you must go, don't buy dinner. Don't buy a bottle of champagne for any young lady you might meet, either. ((I)) |
Did the show, did the dinner. Would do the show again, but I enjoy that type of show.
|
I don't know if I would go again but I definitely enjoyed it once.
It is an experience. Didn't eat the dinner which must have helped my enjoyment |
Kates post was exactly what mine would say, except for me it was 23 years ago that I went to NR.. once and never again..
PS I have many French relatives,, some live in Paris. None of them has ever gone to the Moulin Rouge.. I think that says something. |
