Paris metro with kids

From what I understand from the ratp website, children under 4 are free, children 4 - 9 can use tickets from the half-price carnet, while 9+ needs full priced tickets. Does this sound about right to those who have been there? Thanks!

Children from 4 to 11 years old can have half price discount for a Carnet, say 5.50 euros for 10 children tickets.

this is from the Paris subway guide.

The RATP site says children 4-9 can use the half-price carnet. As of 1 July, a regular carnet costs €11.10 and the half-price carnet costs €5.55.

yes, that's what it means as the RATP rules are very specific and say LESS than 10 years old (moins de 10 ans) get the discount. Those words do not have another meaning.
