Paris Metro question

I'll be visiting Paris for around 9-10 days, and I was wondering if the Paris Metro sells subway cards that are (in any way) similiar to the Oyster Card used in London. I rely heavily on public transit where I live, and it'd be great if anyone knew of some special, prepaid travel pass that can be used within a weekly timeframe. (Not that I have anything against paper tickets, but I tend to be careless when carrying too many items in my wallet...) Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

There is a weekly pass that starts on Monday [only] and ends on Sunday. Navigo Decouverte Pass

There are other ways to buy tickets; this page is a good source of info.

There is a pass that is good from Monday-Sunday that you can use; maybe use paper tickets before and after, if needed to synch with your arrival/departure.

Thanks a bunch, hopefully I'll just need to get one of these, if most of the attractions are within close range of each other...

I love having the nagivo card, makes me feel like a local, but a couple of things to know, you have to pay a bit extra up front, but it is worth it. And you need a small photo. I don't remember the sizes, but it can be a full face shot that you took and printed at home. When I go back not each time I just load it and go!

Otherwise there are photo boooths in almost every station and also in every Monoprix store.
