PARIS METRO

Can I travel from CDG airport in Paris to my hotel near the Eiffel Tower by using the Metro?

adeben Sep 26th, 2007 07:56 PM

No. The Metro doesn't go to CDG Airport.
(The RER does, though.)

What is the RER? Sorry, I'm new to this. I've been in Paris before and used the Metro to get around no problem. But this trip we are flying into CDG and are not sure on how we should travel to our hotel near the Eiffel Tower. Thanks.

The RER is the regional express metro. It will take you from CDG to Paris and allow you to connect to the metro. The ticket for 8.20€ includes the metro connection.

Take the RER B from CDG to St Michel. At that station transfer to RER C Pontoise. RER C stops at Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel.

Here is a link to the metro map:

Thank you both very much.

Hey, wait a minute! "Hotel near the Eiffel Tower" is often creatively used by hoteliers to entice customers. The station you need could be any of at least half a dozen (Ecole Militaire, La Motte-Piquet, Bir-Hakeim, Ségur, Cambronne, Dupleix...).

What a great point, kerouac. I had to look on a map, too, to decide which stop is closer to our Hospitel Hotel Dieu (across from Notre Dame). There appear to be two stops equidistant from our hotel. I want the one that is closest as we will be dragging luggage. :)

Metro Cité is right next to the Hôtel Dieu. And it even has an elevator except for the last flight of steps to street level.

But if you are coming from CDG, the Saint Michel-Notre Dame station will put you directly in front of the Hôtel Dieu (with escalators all the way up to street level), if you are careful to use the exit at the REAR of the train.

Use the planner. So easy! It's on http://www.ratp.info/touristes/index.php?langue=en "Getting around the Ile-de-France region".

Hi A,

If you know the address of your hotel, you can get directions at www.ratp.fr.

Once again, thanks so very much everyone for the helpful information.

ditto!

If your hotel is near Ecole Militaire or La Motte-Piquet, take Roissybus to Opera and transfer to the Metro 8 line (Balard direction).
