Paris - Marne one day cruise?
Has anyone done this trip with either Paris Canal or Canauxrama? We're considering it for a day trip in early September. (We've been to Paris more than a dozen times, and so are now looking at various things we've missed on other trips.) Thanks.

I haven't done these cruises but live in Saint-Maur, one of the places you will be cruising through, and I ride my bike often from Paris along the the Seine and along the Marne further than this cruise will take you so I know exactly what you will see along the way. The scenery is industrial outside Paris until you reach the Marne and then is OK. Once you get near La Varenne in Saint-Maur the scenery is very nice. I saw one of the cruises goes as far as Bry sur Marne (Canauxrama) and the other seemed to end at Les Gingettes, which isn't as far as Bry. If you want to know what the scenery looks along the way like I've written a trip report with photos that begins in Saint-Maur (just before La Varenne) and goes out much beyond Bry sur Marne. If you click on the link below you can see my trip report with photos. I think you might enjoy the cruise.

We did the Marne trip with Canauxrama, and enjoyed it very much! Pictures can be found in our phototravelogue at http://www.kodakgallery.com/gallery/...hotos-_-Sharer

We decided to do the 2.5 hour St Martin Canal tour and we enjoyed it very much. We would have liked the Marne trip, but felt giving up an entire day of our first trip to Paris was just a bit too much. The canal trip was excellent, we used Canauxrama and highly recommend it. Pictures:
