Paris - March vs later?
 

We live in Hawaii and have to be in Charleston SC in March for a wedding. We were hoping to go to Paris in June. Obviously it would save time and money if we could put the trips together. If we don't we may have to schedule Paris later in the year. What would Paris be like in March?

In March, Paris will be chilly, breezy and rainy.

So What? You will be in Paris.

I went this past February and it was fine during the day with temperature around the 50's at most. At night, of course, it got colder and even dropped to what felt like 20F or so. But it was bearable if you bundle up.

In my opinion, Paris is great at any time of year.

I've been to Paris in March several years recently and the weather can be varried but is often very pleasant. Green grass, spring flowers, buds on the trees - looks like spring. Last year several days in march with temps in the high 60s, low 70s. Few days of rain. You can still eat at outdoor cafes (they have gas heaters).

I've also been to Paris in July when it was cool and rainy for a whole week. There are no weather guarantees. True, slightly better chance of warmer weather in June, but I wouldn't base plans just on that. I love Paris in March.

We spent the entire month of March in Paris a few years ago (and have been back to Paris in March several times since)...the weather is not going to be a problem. You will have some rainy days (probably, but OTOH, we had only 3 days of rain during the whole month we spent there) but it can be surprisingly pleasant and balmy (temps are most likely to be in the 50s and 60s, but a few days in the 70s aren't uncommon either). And you won't run the risk of a tiring heat wave like the one of 2003.
Beyond the weather, March is a great time to visit Paris. It's less crowded, fewer tour groups, shorter lines at museums, etc. Paris doesn't have a true low season anymore, people are coming year round.
I believe one of the fashion weeks is in March (when we were there, we crashed a couple of designer bashes), which may or may not coincide with the dates of your trip.
