Paris - looking for a good river trip

I am hoping someone out there can recommend a good river trip. Is one company better than the others? I see that Batobus seems to be a shuttle service, which could aid in my sightseeing. Only there for 72 hours.

Any help or advice is appreciated!!

Hi R,

What are you looking for, exactly?

The Batobus folks are a hop on/off bus on the water.

The Bateaux Mouche boats give you a ride with commentary; somtimes with a meal.

Bateaux Parisiens are also good and have a quay near Notre-Dame through October. Most of the river cruises are similar in price--just do a Google search for "Seine cruises."

If you are staying near the Pont Neuf, there is a river trip from right under it, by the pretty little park at the tip of the Isle de Cite. I think they are called the Bateaux Vedettes, or something like that. Their boats are smaller than the Bateaux Mouches, and they leave about every hour. I did that in the daytime, but still want to do a night cruise.

Sue4 mentions the boats at the Pont Neuf. The name is close: they are the Vedettes Pont Neuf. We prefer these boasts because of location and their somewhat smaller size. Have done day and evening trips with them. Very nice indeed.
