Paris: Left luggage at Gare Austerlitz? Gare de Lyon? Anyplace to freshen up at either one? or at CDG?

The message header pretty much asks the entire question... we are arriving by overnight train from Biarritz at Gare Austerlitz 7:10 am on the last day of our upcoming trip. Later that same morning, we plan to take the Air France bus from Gare de Lyon to CDG (say... at 11 o'clcok) for our 2 pm departure.

We can walk our bags over to Gare de Lyon as soon as we arrive (just across the Seine), or leave them at Gare Austerlitz (if they have a left luggage place) and move them as we head over for the Air France bus. We would sure rather not have to hang on to them for 3 or 4 hours.

We'll probably just try to do one thing, as we have only this small sliver of time, and we have been to Paris before (me several times, her twice, and one of those for 5 or 6 days without me). Neither one of us have ever been to Sainte Chappelle, so that might be our one and only destination.

But it would be nice to freshen up - - the alternative would be somewhere at CDG... or on the plane itself. Doesn't have to provide an actual shower - - though if the second class couchette proves to be true torture, she says I have to call a taxi to the Ritz and get her a room for two hours there!

Thanks in advance for any replies... and...

Best wishes,

Rex

I see now that ira provided an answer to the lef tluggage question on a pst last fall... on http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34521365

but the URL has changed since it was cited here - - and they added even more detailed and useful info...

http://www.parisinfo.com/guide_paris...d_article=6481

Gare Austerlitz

Luggage keeping every day from 7 am to 11 pm.(court of arrival, gate 27).

Gare de Lyon

Luggage keeping every day from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm.

(no other details given for this one - - maybe we will just use what they have at Austerlitz)

Now, if we can just find a place to freshen up...

Hmmm... and this sounds reassuring... showers!? at Gare Austerlitz!?

... there are showers at Gare D'austerlitz in Paris which are kept pretty damn clean.

======================================

and here's an interesting possibility that I have never heard of!

Mistral Hôtel
3, r. Chaligny (01 46 28 10 20; fax 01 46 28 69 66). M: Reuilly-Diderot. Walk west on bd. Diderot and turn left onto r. Chaligny. Clean and reasonably priced. All rooms have TV and phone. Breakfast €5.50. Hall showers €2.30.

Do you think they offer this to non-guests? Too weird?

Maybe, in the spirit of adventure, we ought to go check it out and report back here (but then we would want to carry "stuff" over there- - I doubt it).

I'm hoping that the showers at Gare Austerlitz are as clean as the message above indicates.

I know for sure that there is a shower facility at Gare de Lyon.
