Paris lay over

I will be returning from Greece in the 1st week in October and plan a two day lay over in Paris France, would like to see the Eiffel tower and have a nice dinner at a good French restaurant, can anyone recomend a good hotel that would give me easy access to these two things. CW

CW: if you like to stay near the Eiffel Tower stay in the 7th arr.
You can check out the hotels at many webpages such as
www.paris-touristoffice.com
www.paris.org
www.parisavenue.com
www.hotelboulevard.com

The following places have been discussed on this board:
Duc de Saint-Simon***
Relais Bosquet***
Thoumieux***
Varenne***
Muguet**
La Serre**
De Turenne**

You will find more info about at the above pages. Book early as October is a popular month for business, trade fairs and tourists.
When looking at some of the postings on this board, you will find a lot of suggestions for French restaurants.
Hay a nice trip!

We just stayed at the Relais Bosquet Hotel in the 7th Arr. and it was very nice. You can walk to the Eiffel Tower in about 10 min. (we also could see about 3/4's of it from our window, Room 53). It's between Avenue Bosquet and Rue Cler. Metro stop is Ecole Militaire, about 2 blocks away. There are lots of places to eat in the area and Rue Cler is a lovely pedestrian street lined with food stalls and flower shops. I don't know if you would call these places "good" places to eat since we ate our best meals with our relatives in Paris, but you won't starve in the 7th Arr. by any means.
