I really like the location of the Hotel du College de France. It is not on one of the few streets in the Latin Quarter that seem overly touristed. I am also in my sixties.

I have spent quite a bit of time in that neighborhood because I like to attend lectures at the College de France, and I have found all sorts of nice restaurants and shops. The Place Maubert is nearby and has a street market a couple of days a week and good cheese, charcuterie, bakeries, and other shops.

I have also learned that I could probably be happy staying in just about any neighborhood in Paris.

Have you checked the weather history for the dates you are likely to be in Paris to make sure that air conditioning is really necessary in May and early June?
