Paris - last week of Sept thru 2nd week of Oct
 

I am just beginning to make plans for our anniversary trip to Paris and tho we have visited several times we are usually there in Jan or Feb. We will be in Paris for 2 weeks Sept/Oct and I am wondering what the average temperature and weather are usually like during this time. Looking forward to traveling light for this trip.

According to averages, it should just require a long sleeve shirt or maybe a sweatshirt in the everning or up in the Eiffel Tower. We are leaving Oct 12th and the temp range is morning of 45 to day time around 75. Good luck.

We were there the first week in OCtober of 2003.
We had very pleasant weather - crisp but warm in the sun. Alot like fall in New England.
We wore long sleeves and light autumn jackets during the day and were comfortable.
We did not get any rain.

I've been there at that time and it can get a bit chilly in the evenings, and of course it gets dark earlier than summer, I noticed that. Certainly not bad, though. I would definitely take more than just a long-sleeved shirt. Even in summer, you should have more than that with you.

While we got lucky with the weather - it is always smart to bring layers.

Weather can change DAILY, on arrival at CDG one October, the airport tarmac people were wearing Winter parkas. Two days later we were in T-shirts.

Thank for your thoughtful replies. I too like to check the averages but it always makes feel better to 'visit' with thoses that have actually been there.

We were there the last week in September last year, and we got some rain every day. It was usuallly not heavy, just showers, and the sun soon came out. Only time it rained really hard was the time I forgot my umbrella.

The beauty of showers in Paris is that it gives one an excuse to dodge into the nearest bistro for a glass of something while you watch others scurry past on the slick cobblestones.

You will enjoy your trip, I'm sure. We will look for you, as we will be in town for about that same period.
