Paris: La Grande Galerie de l'Evolution

I would just like to bring this to your attention since people people are always asking:

-- I think I've seen all the major sights. What's left to see?

and

-- What can I do with children in Paris?

As far, as I'm concerned the Grande Galerie appeals to the sense of wonder in all of us, so I made a report on my visit there on Friday: http://tinyurl.com/2ajvree

Thank you again, Kerouac, for another interesting photo essay. I walked right by the place last time I was in Paris, and never knew what I was missing. I just visited the Museum of Natural History in New York, and am anxious to compare the two. Great fun for a biologist!

We had a great visit there a few years ago, combined with seeing the small zoo, and walking through the garden. I think we had a nice lunch in their restaurant as well. It was a fun day and not crowded.

Thanks for posting the photos. Much better than the ones I took.

Thank you. Once again a wonderful presentation,

Thanks - such great pictures. Even though it is a museum named for Evolution, the African parade from above looked like the animals queuing for the Ark.
I want to visit that museum next time I go.

Looks interesting. We almost went in while we were in Paris last weekend but we stayed outdoors in the Jardin de Plante as the weather was so nice. I fear my DW would be upset by the taximermied animals in the Galerie though, preferring to see the live ones.

Wow! We will have to add this one to our list of "to-see".

Thanks, K!

Glad you liked the report.

Gordon_R, I did a report on the Jardin des Plantes last spring and just added to it since the tropical hothouses have finally reopened. You can compare with what you saw here: http://tinyurl.com/27kd9mn
