Paris J'e taime
Just saw it.
What did you think? |
mixed, a few I enjoyed but a few I didn't like: the Chineese salesman episode, the Vampire one and a few others but I'm sucker for seeing Paris. Two days in Paris opens soon here.
|
Loved it. Soundtrack is on the way.
Another one I really enjoyed was "Avenue Montaigne". Similar to "Amelie", but much better! Can't wait for "2 Days in Paris". And, "La Vie en Rose" is absolutely magnificent. |
Mimi, you were up late last night!
I didn't like the vampire one either. I picked out Juliette Binoche, Maggie G, G Depardieu, and Gena Rowlands, but I missed Nick Nolte unless all he did was light a cigarette on a street corner. Loved the scenery and was able to understand some of the French. |
Yes, he was the father who met his daughter and ended up taking care of the baby in the carriage.

I liked them all. Well-done, and a nice visit. Lots of great cameos.
|
Well obviously I will need to see it again. Wonder why I didn't recognize Nolte? Asleep at the switch.
|
I really liked the segment with Nolte, as it's such a nice surprise to find that the apparently sleazeball that's he's playing is just a kindly old grandfather.
Sort of. |
Very good movie. (Well, I guess movies!) I really enjoyed it and seeing all the different arrondisments was very cool.
|
Saw it. Loved it.
|
Saw it and loved it....mostly. I intend to buy it when the DVD comes out, so that I can really get into the all the subtle details of character and place. Mimi, thanks so very much for listing all the characters.
|
my pleasure, marthg,
I've loved French films since teen when I first saw Childrn of Paradise. |
I really enjoyed it. Margo Martindale's character was very funny and touching. Her totally American-accented French has given me a complex though - everytime I try to speak French I feel like I am sounding just like she did and it makes me feel even more self-conscious.
|
I watched the movie with a French exchange student who spent the summer with us, and the segment with Margo Martindale was actually her favorite. She found it very touching and she quite liked the character.
