Paris itinerary suggestions

We are going to spend 4 days in Paris (not counting arrival and departure days). Our hotel is College de France in the Latin quartier. What are nice places to have breakfast in this area(as an alternative to a hotel?s breakfast)?
Here is our itinerary:
Arrival day (arriving at 2:40 p.m.)
Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle, Jardin du Luxembourg
Day 1 Tour Eiffel via Champ de Mars, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Élysées, across Place de la Concorde and the Jardin des Tuileries. Afterwards, tour the Seine on the Bateaux Mouches. Visit Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle if it did not happen on the previous day.
Day 2 Louvre, Tuileries, stroll around place Vendome
Afterwards walk towards Place de Vosges in Le Marais. Place de la Bastille.
Day 3 Musée d?Orsay, walk around Cite, and Ile St Louis. Explore Latin Quartier. Hotel des Invalides?
Day 4 Versalle.
Does it make sense? How much time would it take to walk from the Latin Quartier to the Eiffel Tower? (We are experienced hikers, and walked everywhere while visiting Rome two years ago).

Argus - There is so much to do in Paris and so litle time. Make sure you have good walking shoes. I'll assume you are young and will be able to handle the busy intinerary. I would suggest for a first time skip versailles. You will see much in the first few days and you will want to see more in the city. Pick a neigborhood the 4th day, relax and stroll, be Parisian. My motto is that "There is aways next time" Live by it, if not Paris will overwhelm you!!!

argus, I say go for Versailles. I just came back two weeks ago and only got to spent around 6 hours in the palace. With a full day you should be ok. Get the Audio guides, they are worth it. Also, give yourself a lot of time for the Louvre. We got lost many times on the two days we visit the museum.
Have fun,

It's a LONG walk to the Eiffel tower from the latin quarter. I would highly recommend the hop on off bus pass. One trip through takes about 2 1/2 -3 hours and you get a wonderful overview of the city.. second time through you can hop off and on. Also, while you are on the bus you can spot the metro exits. We used the metro alot and believe me, we are walkers too. We walked and metroed and bussed.. The hop on off bus is great because you get dropped off right near the exact places you want to see. I didn't much find the Hotel Invalides as a place I wanted to visit, but it was beautiful to see from a tour bus and certainly one of the stops.
You left off Rodin's museum which is near the Hotel Invalides. That was a must see for me.
When you visit Mussee de Orsay, have a bite in their cafeteria/diner. Their vegetable soup was out of this world.
Also, consider going to Notre Dame in the evening as well as the daytime as the services are eerily beautiful with the organ music.
Personally, I would skip Versaille altogether and go to Monet's Giverney. (but that's just me) So quaint and away from the city. Versaille is over the top and a bit overwhelming with crowds. Whatever you do, you will have fun!

i highly recommend the Paris Visite pass, its not very expensive, but its worth the money....unlimited bus and metro rides for 3, 5, or 7 days! otherwise i think ur itinerary is good, do leave a whole day for Versailles, ull need it, audio guides there r good idea. another suggestion for Day 2...Louvre, Tuilieries, then at the end of the garden is the place de la concorde which starts the champs elysees and u could walk that its really easy that way and then at the the champs elysees is the arc de triumph (although it was under construction last time i was there, in february, so im not sure if u can climb it if u can, do it, its worth it)also Quartier Latin is near Notre Dame, just keep that in mind......just beware that there is ALOT to do in Paris, ive spent a total of 10 days there (2 separate trips) and still havent seen it all. but like seafox said....there is always next time! and most of all have fun! its Paris!

Make sure you know which days the museums are closed. Many are closed on Monday and a few are closed on Tuesdays. On the other hand, some are open late on some nights and some are free the first Sunday of the month (so avoid as they will be croweded)

As for breakfast, you really don't have to plan this ahead so much. Just look around your hotel when you get there and pick a convenient spot. There are many cafes right near that hotel on place de la Sorbonne, for example, and I also like a tea salon (Crepes a go go, seriouslly, that's the name but it's more than crepes) just to the NW corner of the Pantheon on Soufflot.

And just across the street from Crepes a Go Go is Cafe Soufflot. If you sit outside and look westward, you'll be on a direct axis with the Eiffel Tower. It's quite a view.

we just got back from the Latin Quarter and the College of France was a frequent bus stop of ours(I already gave away my bus maps ,etc. to someone who is going in 2 weeks so I don't remember the specifics) We had a carte orange so used the buses, metro, RER frequently and still walked and walked. We took that bus to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night as we had already been up it in another day. When you said Latin Quarter to visit hope you include the Pantheon and see the crypt and climb the steps-my sons liked the view even though the stair climbing was a part of a French speaking tour and they don't speak a word of French. Breakfast was included in our hotel but there are many bakeries, etc.if you just take a morning stroll.

If you're going to buy a museum pass, have it in hand before you go to St. Chapelle...lthat is where we encountered the longest lines. If I were you I'd play St. Chapelle by ear and go when it is sunny outside. When there is sunshine, the stained glass is just remarkable!

If I were you I'd skip Versailles and spend a day in the Marais...the Carnavalet, Picasso museum and Pompidou Centre are nearby, as is the Place de Vosges.
